The category Construction & Living addresses the important housing market and the construction industry in total. It focuses on ecological and resource-conserving projects – both in the industrial and private sector. Starting with innovative architectural concepts, new materials and construction methods, house technology and interior installations, concrete construction projects for housing estates and commercial real estates or questions of renovation up to the ecological demolition, diverse submissions are possible and welcome.

Evaluation criteria:

  • What is the project’s contribution to the protection of the environment? Both the potential and the results achieved so far are evaluated, especially with regard to the cost-benefit ratio.
  • How innovative is the idea? Do function and aesthetics fit? Is the residential or commercial quality increased?
  • Is the project able to reconcile technology, buildings and the environment?
  • Does the project’s topic have an effect on the public? Is it a pioneer for a future broad application?

Target groups of innovations can be both private customers and industry.

  • What is the degree of innovation and the potential contribution to future energy supply? Can the idea be implemented well? Is the idea, for example, compatible with existing structures?

The GreenTec Awards honor projects that promote the responsible use of water, improve the treatment of drinking water and industrial water, as well as sewage water.
